The NHS research governance framework for health and social care requires all research active UK NHS care organisations to develop quality systems for the oversight of research projects within their organisation.

For many Trusts, these requirements have presented a challenge in resourcing as a result of the need to identify staff with sufficient time and expertise to take on this function.
As a contract research organisation, QED Partnership, building on experience within both the NHS and the pharma industry, can offer an independent QC/QA function on an “as needed” basis, to assist research active organisations achieve their research governance targets in a cost-effective way.
To date we have been able to help numerous Trusts by providing a contracted service, spending a day on site whenever required, on an ad-hoc basis. Since the amount of research ongoing within any Trust at any time will vary, this is a cost-effective way to comply with research governance arrangements.
Our industry experience enables us to visit sites and easily identify existing or potential problems in key areas, such as the consent process and Investigator compliance with Good Clinical Practice or R&D/Ethics Committee requirements. As a result R&D training budgets can be targeted according to local findings.
